Coleman's Canines Exclusive Dog Day Care & Boarding

Services Offered

Day Care

If you work full time or have plans that require you to be out for the day, I offer a day care service, which entails your dog coming to stay with me in the comfort of my home for the day, which includes their usual exercise routine.

I only ever care for a maximum of 4 dogs at one time, enabling me the luxury of providing the individual attention they need and deserve.

You can drop them off in the morning and collect them in the evening, safe in the knowledge that they are secure and content. Alternatively, I offer a collection and drop off service for a small fee, to make the whole experience stress free.

Ideal if you are planning a holiday, business trip, a weekend away or just an overnight stay.

Whilst dog kennels may be suitable for some dogs, they can sometimes feel impersonal, be busy and loud which can be stressful for dogs.

I provide exclusive round the clock care from my calm quiet household. They can roam freely around the home and secure medium sized garden. Beds are dotted around for their ease and comfort. They can even share my sofas if they wish!

I ensure they still benefit from their home-from-home comforts, whilst enjoying plenty of exercise, fuss, play time, and quiet time.

These days, our dogs have become more family members than family pets, yet with our lives becoming more hectic, it can sometimes be difficult to find the time you would like to spend with your beloved dog.

Dogs need daily exercise for physical health, mental stimulation and socialisation; which in turn, bodes well for a happier well-rounded dog.

I offer a variety of walks designed to ensure their individual needs are met, so you have peace of mind knowing that your dog's welfare is being suitably maintained, when you can't be there yourself.

A Bit About Me

Why choose me?

My 1:4 human/dog ratio allows me the capacity to offer you and your dog a premium home based care service.  By not over-crowding, I can afford you both personal time and attention. I ensure no dog is ever overlooked or unattended to. I always spend quality time getting to know each dog specifically; just like us humans, they are all different with their own little quirks.  My expertise are in rescues, nervous and elderly dogs. I am a trained Blue Cross Pet Bereavement Practitioner, and qualified in Dog First Aid & Emergency Canine Care.

My Resident Dog

Upon losing my dear 12 year old Staffie Cross Missy, suddenly on 7th August 2018, my whole world fell apart. She came into my life by chance, as a long term boarder. The elderly lady could no longer care for her, so naturally I took her on as my own. She became the "light of my life", so her passing left a huge hole in my heart and home. Five months on however, I rescued another female Staffie Lurcher Cross. She is 6 years old, called Roxie. She is a dream and totally LOVES all other dogs, a pre-requisite for my resident dog of course!

Running Group

I am a keen runner and run most days for an hour or so. So, if your dog requires a little bit more exercise than just your usual walks, they are more than welcome to join the "pack run". They must have good recall. I have specialised running harnesses if they need to be kept on a lead.

Customer Comments

B Hogben, Beckenham

Donna is a very caring, warm and friendly person, who I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending as someone you could trust implicitly with your dog.

Donna provides a high calibre, reliable and flexible service and having now used her, I wouldn’t want my little dog, Gizmo, to go anywhere else.

A Hillier, West Wickham

Donna has walked and looked after my two dogs on numerous occasions, including a week when I was in Mexico. I have no hesitation recommending Donna as she is reliable and extremely loving and caring. When I leave them with her I know they will be treated as if they were her own.

J Cain, New Addington

Well what can my husband and I say, nothing but great things about Donna. We have a Labrador who was 9 months old when we contacted her. Our Bobby was so scared and wary of other dogs, however since Donna has been caring for him, what a massive improvement we've seen. We're totally at ease with her, she is so patient and loving towards animals.

Mr I Price, Beckenham

Finding and trusting someone with your best friend for a week is difficult. Donna made the choice easy. Her professionalism from the start, her bubbly friendly nature all help of course, but outstanding is her obvious love and devotion to the dogs in her care.  Simba immediately felt at home and was calm and relaxed when we visited. We felt at ease but Simba made the final decision by being so obviously impressed!
Whilst we were away, daily photos and videos reassured us, and became addictive – we waited for the next instalment! That extra contact was brilliant and made a big difference. I can thoroughly recommend Donna and would happily speak to any potential clients.  We know that Simba loved his time with her and that we now have a regular solution for the times when we need a little help with his care.  It is a delight to endorse Donna’s services.

A Botham, Keston

We are so grateful to have found Donna to look after our little 15 year old blind rescue. She is extremely caring and compassionate with Daisy and loves her as though she is her own dog. It doesn't matter whether we just need Donna to take Daisy for a walk, to look after her for the day or even keep her overnight .... she is 100% reliable. We can wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog walker/dog sitter.

L Stedman, Orpington

I cannot recommend Donna highly enough. She is caring, considerate, kind and extremely reliable. She provides feedback whilst caring for my dog which is lovely. Charlie is a Bichon who is very bonded to me but he absolutely adores Donna and trots off happily with her without a backward glance. I am able to have time off totally secure in the knowledge that my little dog is extremely happy and completely safe.

Frequently asked questions

Where will you walk my dog?

I will walk your dog at local parks, woodlands, ponds and nature reserves.  They must have good recall and ideally be off lead.

How many dogs do you care for at once?

Although my licence is for 5 dogs (incl. resident), I rarely have more than 3 or 4 dogs in my care at once. I feel this is adequate for one person to be able to suitably monitor and sensibly care for the group.

Are you insured, licenced & DBS checked?

Yes, I have up to £1m Public Liability & Professional Indemnity Insurance with Royal Sun Alliance. I hold an Animal Boarding Licence with Bromley Council (Licence No. 17/00855/ANIMAB), a clean Basic Disclosure Certificate & Driving Licence.

How do I book you?

Day Care: contact me detailing the days of the week required. I will respond with availability and arrange a time for us to meet up face-to-face at my house, so you can both meet my resident dog and see where they will potentially be staying. If you feel we are the right fit for you, I will then email your booking confirmation, quotation and relevant forms for completion.

Boarding: let me know what dates you would like, if I can accommodate you, I will respond arranging a time for you to visit my house. If you wish to proceed, we can arrange the over-night trial and completion of the pet profile. If the trial is a success, a 25% non-refundable deposit is payable and I can then confirm your booking.

Walking: contact me with your requirements. Once availability is confirmed, I will then arrange to visit your house and meet you and your dog. I will run through some questions and leave a form for completion. We can proceed from there if both parties are happy.

Please note: The trial fee is still payable even if it is unsuccessful.

What should I bring for my dog's stay?

I require the completed Pet Profile & Contract, together with copies of vaccinations for ALL dogs I look after. For day care, only a lead is needed. I provide poo bags, water, beds and small treats. For boarding, please bring ALL food for the entire stay (any food I have to provide will be charged), lead, bowls, bed, coats (if cold & worn), favourite toys and any large treats or medication they may have. *You may also like to bring an item of your clothing to put in your dogs bed if you wish, this will help them to settle in*.

What happens in the case of an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will of course try to contact you first, alternatively, your secondary contacts. I will keep you/them regularly updated.
